Hey
Darters,
Well
it looks like Darts Pay has gone from top of the heap to rock bottom in two
short seasons; the last three weeks have been TUFF for us. We had a 16-3 loss
followed by a 17-2 and last week we followed that up with an 18-1 pounding by
Kenny Northern’s team, I’m just glad we have a “by” this week because I’m not
sure we could handle a 19-0. Elsewhere around the League both A and B things
are still relatively close, and that’s the way I like to see it. IT TRULY IS
ANYONES CHAMPIONSHIP.
The
AFDA contacted us to let us know the State Shoot will be at the Blue Water in
Parker on March 6,7,8 for sure. Let’s all try to stop by at least one of those
days and support our team. Team members you are going to look good in your new
team shirts, as soon as they arrive I will contact you all for a photo session.
At
the last LBDA Board meeting we discussed organizing a fund raiser that we would
like to get as much support from all of you as possible to make a success.
March 28th will be “DART ‘N’ DASH”. What we need is for you to talk
with your bar sponsors to see if they would be willing to be a sponsor
location, the cost for this is $25 per bar. You as competitors will team up
with one partner of your choice and go from bar to bar playing fun dart
oriented games for prizes; the cost for entry is $15 per two person team. Be looking
for the flyers in your favorite dart bar soon.
I
didn’t get any feed back on Captains meetings so I guess you don’t want to do
them; if you change your minds let me know.
Good
luck to anyone planning on travelling to the Queen Mary Shoot this week end,
wish I was going but that ugly thing called work has once again got in the way.
Until
next time…..Throw ‘em straight!!!.

1-22-09After
much hoopla the State Shoot has been finalized, it will be held once
again at The Blue Water Casino in Parker. The LBDA and the Parker Dart
League will be Co-Hosts and as always we hope to see as many LBDA
members as possible show up and shoot on Friday night for the Blind
Draw and maybe even come back on Saturday or Sunday and support the
Team. This years Team consists of the following players:-
Adam
Sevada, Bob Preston, Kenny Northern, Chuck Childress and Ron Gayman on
the Men’s side and for the Ladies we will be represented by Jeanne
Preston, Revena Smith and Barbar Earle. Team Captain returning for his
second year in a row is Matt “The Intimidator” Langford, on the whole I
think we have a great team and stand a pretty good chance of showing
very well. This years event will be March 6, 7, and 8 and if you have
never been you owe it to yourself to stop by and see what goes on. Hope
to see you there.
In other news, we are three weeks into
the season and it’s anyone’s guess who is going to take it this year,
Team Hardcore came out swingin’ with a beatdown of Darts Pay on week 1
but couldn’t hold it together in week 2. Aiming to Please look strong
but it is a long season, can they hold on? Or will they crumble under
the preasure?
It’s great to see two new Bars in the League, let’s
all welcome Chuy’s on the North side and Mr Lucky’s on the South side
by stopping in and supporting our newest League Sponsors. Some good
Darts being played in B League, things are closer than ever with only
17 points between 1st and 8th, think about it, you could make that up
one or two weeks.
It has been mentioned that we should
try to put together some “blind draw” games, well if you remember we
did this a couple of seasons ago, support was ok but it was not great.
I have no problem doing it as long as you want it and are willing to
support it. The buy in is normally only $5.00 then we split with the
League and the top three if there is enough players. Captains, talk to
your teams and let me know if we should go forward, on another note
captains, do you want to do a Captains Meeting with Members of the
Board once every two Months, again let me know so we can schedule. If
any member of the LBDA has questions or concerns I can be reached by
the phone # or the e-mail address listed at the bottom, please feel
free to contact me, I can’t take calls at work so leave a message with
the best way to reach you and I will get back to you.
Throw ‘em straight!!
